Love for CHRISTmas

Christmas is my favorite season of the year! The main reason is because it is CHRISTmas. It is a time to reflect on Christ's life and ministry and give ALL glory to Him. It is a time for thankfulness to the Lord for sending His son. What an elaborate plan the Lord had and currently has to bring himself glory!

Another reason I am excited for Christmas is because it is our first Christmas as a married couple :) Although we haven't put our Christmas tree up or decorated our new home for the season, we are excited to do so and plan on starting this Saturday. To help celebrate the holidays, we are going to send out our first Christmas card and we decided to have Shutterfly help us do that. They have created some fun Christmas Card options! What I appreciate about this company is the variety of colors and designs that you can choose from. And of course, you can customize them to make a good fit with you and your loved ones! Grant and I customized ours by putting a favorite Bible verse for the Christmas season! You should try creating one yourself! Here is the link to their Christmas Cards. Can you guess which one we chose? :)

I just hope we get them mailed out to our friends and family in time for Christmas. That will be my goal after finals are over on December 15th!

Double Date :)

When Ashley (Andrew's girlfriend) was here two weekends ago, we had planned to treat the boys to a dinner cooked by their significant others (us!). In return, they said that they were going to do something as well. Well the night they planned occured last night and it was SO wonderful! I am somebody that absolutely LOVES surprises and that is just what we received!

I went over to the Jacobson's house at 6:00pm (I might have been a little late ;)). When I got there, Ashley had directions to a surprise destination that we were to go to while the boys were cooking for us at my apartment. We drove all the way to Eagan and discovered the boys had set up an appointment and paid for us to get a manicure AND pedicure. It was so delightful!

After we were finished being pampered, we headed back to the Jacobson's house with instructions to dress up. From there, we headed over to my apartment for dinner. We got out of the car, walked into the hallway of our apartment, opened the door, and...the boys were all dressed up, standing in candlelight, waiting for us with a rose in their hand! It was sooooo sweet :)

After that, they served us a candlelit dinner and French Silk pie for dessert. I absolutely loved it. As I think about how amazing they are to have done that for us, I am reminded of what Jesus did for us...died for our sins so we can be reconciled to Him! Praise God!

Hi Friends!

Happy Friday friends! I am so thankful that it is the weekend and that it is time to relax and have fun at home and doing our weekend activities! (Not that work during the week isn't fun...just a different kind :))

I moved out of my Minneapolis apartment in May, but have been storing stuff there since then. Yesterday was the day I had to go and move it out of there. I got an SUV that is larger than my Corolla so that I could move the couple pieces of furniture that were still there. I totally thought that there would be a sufficient amount of room, but boy was I wrong! I forgot that I still had three, large pieces of furniture there, a TV, and A LOT of other stuff I had left there so the apartment wouldn't look bare and empty! I am sooo blessed that I had my sister there to help me pack everything and load it up. It took us three hours to do that and then Grant came over and helped us clean for the last two hours. The time ended up totaling FIVE HOURS with the three of us! Think about how long that would have taken if it was just me!

Next Tuesday is a very special day...it is my husband's birthday! He will be turning 23! I am planning a party for him on Sunday. I have not mentioned it to him yet, so I am thinking that it might be a surprise...not quite sure yet. I am going to try to work really hard to finish cleaning all of the clutter out of our apartment over the next two days. We have so many piles of things that are waiting to be returned, put in storage, or put as decor in our home! It is a great time to have people over because it will force us to hunker down and get it done! Wish me luck in this time of beautifying and organizing our home!

Any ideas to make my sweet boy's birthday get-together even more fun than it will already be??? What do you usually do at your family birthdays?

Love, Jodi :)

A Fun-filled Weekend :)

This weekend was SO amazing! We had so many fun things packed into three short days.

Friday: We have half-days at work, so I was able to go home and take a three hour nap! I have not been able to do that in a very long time, so it was much appreciated!

After my nap, my dad and I went to the Twins game and...THEY WON! It was such a great game and I always love watching them play. We have a few more games before the season is over.

After the game, my dad and I stopped over to my sister and brother-in-law's new home to see them and drop off some furniture. They are moving in SO fast. I think their home will be organized before ours and we moved in a month ago!

Saturday: Grant and I were invited over to a special breakfast made by our friend's mom, Mrs. Jacobson. It was so delicious. We had swedish pancakes, the most delicious bacon ever, and blueberry tea. This breakfast was in honor of a special guest and new friend (Ashley) that we had in Minnesota this weekend!

The afternoon was spent at the MOA on a double date :) We went on a couple rides and then ate at Bubba Gumps. The food was so good. We all shared 1 1/2 pounds of cajun shrimp. One of my new goals is to make that shrimp...someday.

Saturday evening finished up with some work at Chili's. My husband and I were able to close the restaurant together :)

Sunday: It was a very interesting morning. Grant and I played in a softball tournament that started at 8am. We had five games and all I will say is that I am very very sore today. It hurts to walk, laugh, and pretty much move. But it was a great way to start off my new exercise plan! I almost forgot...we were the champions and our reward is a jacket with our names on it (I will remind you that it is Bostrom :))

After that tournament, Grant played in ANOTHER softball tournament for men.

We finished up the night with swimming, pizza, popcorn, and a movie. So wonderful :)

I hope that all of you had an exciting weekend and I would love to hear about it. Leave a comment :)

Love, Jodi

Lovely Lovely Friday

Hi friends! Well...it has been awhile. First, I got caught in the life of being an engaged woman. Next, I got caught in our wedding and honeymoon. Finally, I got caught in being a MARRIED woman! Doesn't sound too bad huh? But now I am settled in this season of life and it is SO wonderful! I love waking up in the morning to my husband and having breakfast with him. I love being able to come home to OUR home and give him a big hug. And I love cooking and eating dinner with him. The best part about this...I get to do all of these things every day!

I am so excited that today is Friday because I love the weekends! We have half-day fridays at work, so I get to go home at noon today! While I am at work, Grant gets to watch this cutie...
Preston Francis (6 months)
and then tonight...I get to go to the Twin's game. So excited! I haven't been to one in awhile and it is long overdue!
Happy Friday!!
Jodi :)
